Sinto-me sobrecarregada de inspiração! I’m overloaded with inspiration!

*suspiro*

Thank you all for the positive feedback on my spring/summer Project list! It’s my first draft so it needs some more thought and planning. It’s a long list (and there’s a lot more I want to include in it!) but many of the projects are easy and relatively quick to make. I am more a fall/winter sewer because I love the winter structured, challenging and sometimes complicated garments (that’s why I’ve included the Patrones ivory suit in my list! That’s the kind of garment I love making!), and spring/summer clothes don’t appeal to me as much because they are often simpler. But a girl needs clothes (some of the people that know me are laughing out loud now), so I will try to put a wardrobe together that is practical, that can be paired up with other garments I have, and that I can wear to work. I’m also thinking of a couple of pieces for special occasions (like Paco’s jacket and some other projects that I have yet to find the right fabric for). This is a work in progress list so I’ll be planning it as I go!

At this point I feel like I’m overloaded with inspiration and I’m sharing some of my sources.

Today I ordered another Japanese patternmaking book; Summerset and Shannon, this heads up is for you both! This book features garments that I know for sure you both love and guess what, the Japanese sizing system is ideal for petite frames! My size according to the book’s description is the extra-large so you have 3 more sizes down to chose from!

Retrospective is stylish

Just follow the link and be amazed with the vintage styles featured in this book! As an added bonus, the shipping costs are included in the price!

Another great source of inspiration has been the preview for the upcoming BWOF May issue. At the German website you can preview all the models (except for their technical drawings that will be available by the end of April)

There you’ll find a lovely white collection (these pictures are only a few favorites and they all come from the burdamode.com website):

This OUTSTANDING dress:
There’s also a metallic copper collection (it seems that my choice of fabric for Paco’s jacket was right on the spot!):
And a delicious dress collection:

Adding to all this, of course, there’s Vogue! I’ve already included a Vogue pattern in my list but I’m not stopping there! This Ralph Rucci pattern is coming my way:
And this DKNY set is also in my mind:
After all this, please tell me, where will I find the time? *Sigh*

Thank you so much for the links for the Japanese book! I will be getting one of those. There are definitely some good things in the May BWOF.

Are you telling us you quit your job? LOL. What an inspiration your post is! Looking forward to receiving my BWOF, looks good.

Sigrid: If someone would pay me enough for making my own garments, I wouldn't think twice about quitting my job! But no, I didn't quit... My head is spinning because there's all this inspiration and I know that my time is so limited...

Summerset I knew you'd love this book!

I'm with Sigrid and think you need to quit your job. Maybe we would take up a collection to fund your sewing? lol. Seriously you have such good taste. When I get so inspired I just don't know where to start.

Ahh. Paco

Tany, I went and viewed the Japanese book and couldn't resist. The second size is my measurements exactly. The height is 4 cms shorter but as I need to shorten the torso I may not need to adjust. Thanks for the link :))

Vicki: That's great! There are amazing garments in the book, judging by the preview! I am hoping to get my copy really soon!

Tania Ho: De nada!

Nem me digas nada!
